All herning shipping's Company owned vessels were ISM-certified in 1995. The"International Safety Management (ISM) Code" means the International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention as adopted by the Assembly, as may be amended by the Organization. The purpose of this Code is to provide an international standard for the safe management and operation of ships and for pollution prevention. The objectives of the Code are to ensure safety at sea, prevention of human injury or loss of life, and avoidance of damage to the environment, in particular, to the marine environment, and to property.
This certificate covers the Risk Management and has been implemented on board all our vessels as well as in all our offices. This Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) specification states requirements for an occupational health and safety management system, which enable us to control Occupational Health and Safety risks and improve our performance. Good Manufacturing / Managing Practice is a quality management system covering animal feedstuff carriage. The Quality Standard ensures that Risk Management procedures, tracking and tracing and warning systems are in place, in order to detect feed and food hazards as early as possible.
