All herning shipping's Quality control systems have been certified in accordance with the ISO 9001 standard, which was obtained in 1993.This certificate covers quality management and demonstrate our ability to consistently provide transports and services that meet customer and applicable regulatory requirements and aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effectiveness of the quality system, including continual improvement of the system.
ISO 14001
As one of the pioneering shipping companies of the World, herning shipping was ISO 14001 certified in 2000. The ISO 14001 covers all aspects related to environmental safety. It applies to those environmental aspects, over which we are in control and on which we are expected to have influence.
ISM
All herning shipping's Company owned vessels were ISM-certified in 1995. The"International Safety Management (ISM) Code" means the International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention as adopted by the Assembly, as may be amended by the Organization. The purpose of this Code is to provide an international standard for the safe management and operation of ships and for pollution prevention. The objectives of the Code are to ensure safety at sea, prevention of human injury or loss of life, and avoidance of damage to the environment, in particular, to the marine environment, and to property.
OHSAS 18001
This certificate covers the Risk Management and has been implemented on board all our vessels as well as in all our offices. This Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) specification states requirements for an occupational health and safety management system, which enable us to control Occupational Health and Safety risks and improve our performance. Herning shipping has established the system in order to eliminate or minimize risks to employees and other interested parties who may be exposed to any such risks associated with our activities.
International Ship & Port facility Security (ISPS)
This certificate documents compliance with the International Ship & Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) and covers the Ship security plan onboard herning shipping vessels.
The ISPS certificate issued by Lloyd's Register of Shipping is a documented approval of the ship security plan implemented by herning shipping. Herning shipping has established the security plan in order to eliminate or minimize risks of potential future terror attacks to herning shipping vessels.
Good Manufacturing / Managing Practice (GMP+)
Good Manufacturing / Managing Practice is a quality management system covering animal feedstuff carriage. The Quality Standard ensures that Risk Management procedures, tracking and tracing and warning systems are in place, in order to detect feed and food hazards as early as possible.
Herning shipping a.s. was certified by Lloyds Register in 2005, and is is amongst the first deep sea tanker owners which enrolled the programme.
